The staff at Grattan Academy is committed to professional growth through professional reading, attendance of college courses, workshops, seminars, in-services and trainings sponsored by SVSU and MJ Management. Staff takes part in curriculum development, pacing guide development and the analysis of data to improve student achievement.
Fire, tornado,lock downs and other emergency drills are regularly scheduled to prepare students about safe practices in case of emergency. The teacher will review rules of safety and evacuation routes with students. Evacuation routes and tornado watch locations are posted in each classroom and common use area of the Academy.
"Drills are conducted in coordination with our local emergency management coordinator and the county sheriff for the county OR chief of police OR fire chief for the municipality where the school is located, OR the designee of the sheriff, chief of police, or fire chief."
